Staged

• Smaller size than non-staged but less stable

• In Metaspoit, staged payloads are in the [OS]/meterpreter/ directory

  • /linux/meterpreter/reverse_tcp

Non-staged

• More stable than Staged payloads, but are larger in size

• Doesnt always work

• In Metasploit, non-staged payloads are in the [OS]/ directory, prefixed with metaploit_

  • /linux/meterpreter_reverse_tcp
